空間光変調器

Abstract

【課題】単純なX配線とY配線とを用いて連続した磁性体の特定の一部分を選択して磁化し磁気光学効果を有する層の磁気光学的効果により光の強度を連続的に変調させる空間光変調器を得ること。 【解決手段】少なくとも磁気光学効果を有する層と磁界発生層とを有する空間光変調器であって、磁気光学効果を有する層に複数の磁区を定義し、該磁界発生層は各磁区に対して磁界を与える縦方向配線を設けた配線層(縦配線層)と横方向配線を設けた配線層(横配線層)のそれぞれを少なくとも一層備えており、該配線のそれぞれに順方向あるいは逆方向に電流を供給したり停止したりする電流駆動手段を持つことを特徴とする空間光変調器。 【選択図】 図8
<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spatial light modulator with which light intensity is continuously modulated by the magneto-optic effect of a layer having the magneto-optic effect by selecting and magnetizing a specified part of a continuous magnetic body by using simple x wiring lines and y wiring lines. <P>SOLUTION: The spatial light modulator has at least the layer having the magneto-optic effect and a magnetic field producing layer. A plurality of magnetic domains are defined on the layer having the magneto-optic effect. The magnetic field producing layer is provided with at least one layer of a wiring layer equipped with longitudinal wiring lines (a longitudinal wiring layer) and one layer of a wiring layer equipped with lateral wiring lines (a lateral wiring layer) respectively, imparting a magnetic field to respective magnetic domains. The spatial light modulator has a current driving means which supplies currents in a forward direction or in a backward direction to the respective wiring lines or stops them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
